Service For L. Omer Ellis

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bethel Baptist church at Iowa Falls at two o'clock for L. Omer Ellis, 69, who passed away at his home south west of Dows Saturday evening. A family prayer service was held at 1:00 p.m. at the VanHove Funeral home. Burial was in Fairview cemetery at Dows.

L. Omer Ellis was born March 2, 1892 at Pellyton, Kentucky, the son of James and Edna Ellis. In 1920 he came to Iowa settling near Jolley. In 1940 he came to live near Dows. On Sept 15, 1920 he was married to Buelah Matherly. He is survived by his wife and five sons, James R. Ellis, Mabel, Minn., Minn., Harold E. Ellis, Riceville, IA.; Raymond L. Ellis, Oscoda, Mich.; Donald E. Ellis. Dows. Luard L. Ellis, East Grand Forks, Minn.; Twelve grandchildren also survive along with three brothers and two sisters. Wilbur Ellis, Gordon Ellis. Arlis Ellis, Mrs. Okle Paton, all of Danville. Ken, and Mrs. Elmer Lee of Indianapolis, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, one granddaughter and one brother.
