Kathryn Florence (Korslund) Wilson, 88, died of cancer Monday at a local extended-care facility. Her memorial service is 10:30 a.m. June 5 at First Presbyterian Church. Croxford Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of local arrangements. Kathryn is the devoted wife of Douglas Norman Wilson Jr.; beloved mother of Richard Helzer (Kathryn) of Bozeman, Suzanne Barbour (David) of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and Mary Glennan (Michael) of Colorado Springs, Colo. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her sister Mary Ann Roucis of Denver, Colo.; brother John Korslund of Beatrice, Neb.; stepchildren Douglas Wilson (Shirley) and Marilyn Schmidt (Steve); four stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on March 4, l921, and died April 27, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald H. Helzer, who was supervisor of music for the Great Falls Public Schools 1966-l973; and a sister, Janet Kulenguski. Kathryn was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and belonged to PEO (Chapter 2) and Daughters of the Nile. She loved music, gardening and family gatherings at their cabin on Big Sky Lake. She was a woman of deep faith; even in her darkest moments, she remained optimistic. She gave us love, strength, conviction. As a wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed and forever loved. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church or Peace Hospice.
