Mildred M. Robbins, 97, died September 19, 2001 at the Belmond Medical Center in Belmond. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond, with Father David Beckman and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Interment was at St. Francis Cemetery near Belmond. Music was proved by Maxine Whitty, organist; Clinton and Andrea Christians, cantors. Casket bearers were Clinton Christians, Matthew Robbins, James Robbins, Bart Dugan, Anthony Robbins, Loren Robbins, Ryan Robbins, and Neil Christians. Honorary casket bearers were the remaining great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Ushers were Art Benetti, Tom Bock, and Hubart Kopriva. Eucharistic Ministers were Tom Christians, Dick Kehrt, Pat Schmit, and Regina Lamoureux.

Mildred M. Robbins, the daughter of Sumner G. and Kathryn Monaghen Fuller, was born March 10, 1904, in Goodell. She grew up in the Goodell area, where she attended school. Millie graduated from Goodell High School in 1920. She then attended college. Millie returned to Goodell where she began teaching country school. Millie married Lee R. Robbins on November 11, 1926, in Goodell. The couple made their home in Goodell, where Millie raised her family. She began teaching again in 1946 and continued teaching in Goodell until retiring in 1966. Millie enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and cards. She was a true Minnesota Twins fan. She was also a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Goodell and the Senior Citizens of Goodell. Millie was devoted to her Catholic faith. She was a member of both St. Mary's in Goodell and St. Francis Xavier in Belmond. She was a charter member of the St. Francis Rosary Society. Strong in her faith, she enjoyed praying for her family.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee R.; her son, Lee O. in May 2001; grandson Merle; three sisters; two brothers; and son-in-law, Tom Zelsdorf, this past week. Survivors include one son, Eugene Robbins of Forest City; and three daughters, Norma Jean Zelsdorf of Burlington, Janice Pascaly and her husband, Russell, of Springville, TN, and Maxine Johnson of Belmond; daughter-in-law, Deloris Robbins of Goodell; two sisters, Agnes Robbins of Belmond, and Margaret Bussa of Florida; 20 granchildren; more than 50 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
