Lenore Deml, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at her home in River Falls, WI, following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, MN, with burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Lenore Finn was born December 7, 1922, on the family farm near Belmond, daughter of James and Ida (Jacobs) Finn. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1940 and from St. Joseph's Mercy School of Nursing in 1944. On September 24, 1945, she was married to Leonard Deml at St. Francis Church in Belmond. They made their home in Owatonna, MN. Lenore's nursing career spanned 45 years; at the Owatonna Hospital for several years and 16 years in the Indian Health Services. She retired in 1989 and moved to River Falls, WI, to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; her parents; and four brothers, Francis, Merlin, Clair and Orland Finn. Survivors are her four daughters, Suzanne Calkins, Jocelyn Nelson, both of River Falls, WI, Karen McDowell of Minneapolis, MN, Julie Deml of Robbinsdale, MN; two sons, Pat Deml of Ellendale, MN, Mike Deml of Eagan, MN; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Finn of Easton, KS, Richard and Earlene Finn of Austin, MN, and Roger and Mary Finn of Boise, ID; one sister, Peggy Halverson of Belmond; and six Finn and Deml sisters-in-law.
