March 21, 2006Harold Wright, 98, of Webster City, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Church Of Christ with Pastors Ray Artrip and John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center and at the church from 11:00 a.m. to service time.
George Harold Wright, son of C. W. (Wash) and Ethel Meeks Wright, was born May 19, 1907 on a farm northeast of Webster City. He attended a rural school in that area. On December 20, 1930, he married Madeline Noris Tudor at the Church of Christ parsonage at Webster City. The couple farmed in the Webster City and Woolstock areas until 1944 when they moved to Webster City. He worked for the Railway Express Company. In 1946, they moved to a farm near Kamrar for a short time, later returning to Webster City. He was a salesman for the Leo Johnson car dealership and also sold cars for Woody Christeson. They moved to a farm near Williams and three years later he become district manager for Crows Hybrid Seed Corn Company. They returned to Webster City in 1956. From 1961 to his retirement in 1983, he was in monument sales for Kallin-Johnson Monument Company. They enjoyed wintering in Texas and Arizona for many years. Mrs. Wright died November 5, 1997. He moved to Crestview Apartments in 1998 and to Crestview Senior Living in June of 2005.
Harold is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Bob Yeager of Webster City; grandchildren, Randy and Merna Yeager of Greenwood, AR; Kristy and Al Bentley of Missouri City, TX; Jeff and Carol Yeager of Kamrar; Mitch and Donna Yeager of Grimes; great-grandchildren, Benji (Haley) Yeager; Nathan (Karen) Yeager; Marcy (Alan) Powell; Gina Yeager; Ky Yeager; Alycia Bentley; Emily (Ryan) Roberts; Mark Yeager (fiancé, Mari Bass); Ashley Yeager; David (Jeana) Eide; Kellen Yeager and Kendall Yeager; 11 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, J. Howard and Marguerite Wright and nephew, Richard Wright. Harold had been a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
