Katherine May Capsel, 87, Webster City, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Ryan Christenson to officiate. Burial will be in the Cass Cemetery, Webster City. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Wednesday.

Katherine May Edwards, daughter of James and Elsie Bottke Edwards, was born Sept. 5, 1918 at Rowan. She received her education at Goldfield, graduating in 1937. On Sept. 3, 1941, she married Ora E. Capsel at Bethany, Mo. The couple moved to Webster City from Eagle Grove in 1951. The couple resided on Appe Avenue for many years. Her husband Ora preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1999. She was a nursing aid at Hamilton Hospital for over 15 years retiring in the early 1980s.

Katherine is survived by two nieces, Nancy Resheske of Eugene, Ore., and Mary Ellen Koestner of Webster City; five nephews, Tom Hilpipre, Dean Hilpipre, Dick Hilpipre, and Walter O. Hilpipre Jr., all of Webster City, and William George Edwards of Oregon; first cousins Paul Bottke of Iowa Falls, Harold Bottke of Hampton, and Gloria Beer of Iowa Falls.

Katherine enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made many quilts over the years. She liked many sports and always had a great interest in reading history. She and Ora were avid gardeners and this gave them many pleasurable hours together.
