Bernard B. Davis, 73, of Webster City, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. prior to the graveside.

Bernard B. Davis, son of George and Lillian Tucker Davis was born March 31, 1931 at Webster City. He attended Webster City Schools, graduating from Lincoln High in 1949. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Eldorado as a medical corpsman with the U.S. Marines. On November 18, 1955, he married Mary Williams at Woolstock. The couple resided at Security, Colorado, where he servedas deputy sheriff for El Paso County. The couple were later divorced. On November 2, 1978, he married Carolyn Bennett at Sioux City. The couple resided at Minneota, Minnesota where he served as chief of police for several years. Carolyn preceded him in death. He moved to Webster City were he worked at Briggs Woods Golf Course. He then moved to Sioux City, Ne. for a short time and for the past three years has lived at Webster City.

Mr. Davis is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Harold Chase of Atlantic; son, Brett Davis of Colorado Springs, Co.; grandchildren, Henry and Charles Chase; Melissa Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Brittnee Chase and Colissa Wheeler; nieces and nephews, Lisa Davis, Jacquie McCollough and Bill Jensen, all of Webster City; Karen Boatwright of Colorado Springs; Leslie Pollard of Rochester, N.H.; Jeff West of Stanhope. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward and Byron Davis; sisters, Evelyn Rastetter and Beverly Jensen.
