2 November 1960Emma Caroline Prickett, daughter of Charles and Angeline Probst was born at Clinton, Iowa, Nov. 28, 1878. She passed away at a Rochester hospital, Nov. 1, 1960, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, 4 days. When a girl she moved with her parents to Galt, Iowa, where she was united in marriage with John T. Prickett, Dec. 22, 1901, at the home of her parents. To this union, two daughters were born, Mrs. William Lorenzen (Della), who preceded her in death, and Mrs. Wallace Maloney (Lila), Austin. A step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph DeYoung (Ina) resides in Dexter. In 1903, Mrs. Prickett moved to a farm near Dexter. Later she moved to Austin, Minnesota where she resided about 25 years.
Besides her two daughters she leaves to mourn her death three sisters, Mrs. Louise Daniels, Los Angeles, Mrs. Clayton Cox, Austin, Mrs. Anna Prickett, Minneapolis; a brother, Charles of Port Orchard, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Her husband, a brother John, and a daughter Della preceded her in death. The funeral was held at the Worlein Funeral Home, Thursday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m., the Rev, H. Hankins of the Methodist Church, Dexter, officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. Out-of-town persons attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Voorhees and daughter, Prescott, Wis., Donald DeYoung, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gage, Robert DeYoung, Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lucas, Spring Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Norris Odland, Clarion, Iowa; many friends from Dexter.
