E. Jeanine Hallett, Teacher, of Basking Ridge, 70

Jeanine Hallett, 70, passed away on April 5, 2009, at Compassionate Care Hospice Center in Dover, N.J., surrounded by her husband and children. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 10th at Millington Baptist Church. For further information, contact Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home.

Jeanine was born in Clarion, Iowa, and raised on the family farm. She graduated from Clarion High School and then continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa. While in college, Jeanine met and married Richard Hallett. Jeanine was blessed with two children. Jeanine pursued a career in elementary education teaching in Iowa and Michigan, followed by a series of corporate relocation's that included residences in Connecticut, Florida, upstate New York and finally to Basking Ridge, where she and Dick lived for the past 20 years. Jeanine enjoyed cooking and making friends. She was supportive of many local charities. The fellowship of others was something she always held dear.

Jeanine is survived by her husband, Richard, of Basking Ridge, N.J., and her two children, daughter, Sharon Thomsen and husband, Kevin, of Naperville, Ill., and son, Scott Hallett and wife, Deborah, of Akron, Ohio. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Erin, Peter, Claire and Lydia. For those planning an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to either Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, N.J., or the Morristown Memorial Hospital Foundation in Morristown, N.J.
