Lyman Steenblock, cashier of the bank at Douglas, Neb., died July 23rd as a result of injuries received in an auto accident. The accident occurred at a T corner near Belmond, Iowa. Mr. Steenblock's brother, Lewis Steenblock of Rolfe, was driving and in order to avoid colliding with a coupe driven by Irving Madsen of Belmond
he turned the car into the ditch. There it struck a stump and, turned end for end,, throwing the occupants out. The car caught fire and is a total loss. The injured ones were taken to a hospital at Belmond where it was discovered that Lyman Steenblock had suffered a fractured skull which caused his death. Mrs. Steenblock's leg was fractured near the hip and Lewis Steenblock suffered severe cuts and bruises. The Steenblocks were on a pleasure trip and had left their little child at the home of its grandparents which perhaps saved its life.
