Robert W. Anderson, age 74, of Dows, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services for Robert W. Anderson were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at the Presbyterian Church in Dows. Pastor David Sorenson officiated. Burial will take place in the Jackson Township Berlin Cemetery near Owasa. Visitation for Robert W. Anderson was held from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 100 North Lee street in Dows and continued one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Robert W. Anderson, the son of Roy and Nettie Shaner Anderson was born March 2, 1934 in Cottage Community, Ellis Township in southern Hardin County, Iowa. He grew up in the Cottage and Dows areas where he attended country schools. After school, he began working with his father farming. Bob began working with Winnebago Industries in Forest City and later in Hampton. He retired from Winnebago in Hampton after 25 years. His 25 years of employment with Winnebago was something Bob was very proud of. Bob enjoyed working with cars and could often be seen out about town just driving around.

Robert is survived a sister, Helen Hilpipre of Battle Creek, NE; two brothers, Carl and wife Judy of Hampton: George and wife Darlene of Dows; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janet Cooper; two brothers, Floyd and Alfred; an infant brother; a nephew, Mike Anderson and a niece, Beverly Craig.
