Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaPOCAHONTAS, IA - Ramona C. Nagel, age 73, of Pocahontas, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, with Rev. Jack Kahle officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Ramona Nagel went to join the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa. Ramona was born in Peterson, Iowa on November 6, 1935 to Walter and Leota (Bailey) Heick. She married Daryle Nagel on August 20, 1955 in Peterson, Iowa. During their 53 years of marriage, the couple lived in Peterson, Inwood, Dike and Pocahontas, Iowa. To this union were born three children. Ramona was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. She loved flowers and watching the birds that perched on her many bird feeders. She enjoyed fishing trips and visiting the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Ramona especially loved traveling with her husband within the United States and abroad. She will be remembered as a compassionate, involved member of the communities she lived in, a caring friend, and as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Ramona is survived by, her husband, three children, and their families; eldest son Dan, wife Cindy, and their children Jessica Nagel, Tracy (Kris) Kramer, Christy (Seth) Bahnson, Jeremy (Jamee) Childress & Brady (Jodi) Childress and 11 grandchildren; Son Tim, wife Denise and their children Beth (Kyle) Eagen, Jamie, Jacob (Darci) Nagel, Ben, Clare, Caleb, Tess, Cailey, and Max Nagel; Daughter Kim Graves, husband Doug, and their children, Erin (Jared) Stohner, and Steve Graves as well as sisters Frances Zahren and Norma Nagel. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine and Doris, and cherished granddaughter, Tara Nagel.
