Sioux City Journal, IowaJudith R. Curry, 68, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Judith was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Al and Lillian (Crawford) Rhoades. She graduated from Central High School in 1958. She worked in the home health care profession for many years, aiding and selling durable medical equipment. She was of the Catholic faith. He loved animals and the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved celebrating her birthday. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Dan and Shelly Curry of Sioux City and Shelly's sons, Justin, Jason and JJ Sandy, and William and Lori Curry of Sioux Falls, S.D. and their children, Michael Curry, Matthew Curry and Danielle Rangel; a sister, Kay Rice of Sioux City; and dearest friend, Nancy Irwin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her life long companion, John LaScalla. Pallbearers will be Mark Hoefling, Mick Irwin, Doug Dimick, Larry Van Rooyan, Rod Bursick and Jim Berens.
