HUDSON, S.D. - Anna Helene "Annie" Johnson, 90, of Hudson died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at the Colonial Manor in Hudson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hudson Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery at Hudson. Visitation will begin at noon today, with the family present at 6:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home of Hudson.

Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 9, 1907, near Butler, S.D., the daughter of Carl and Ingeborg (Kvam) Hanson. She graduated from Webster, S.D. High School and obtained her teaching certificate from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. She taught country school near Butler. She married Anthony "Tony" Johnson on Sept. 6, 1930, in Webster, S.D. The couple farmed near Kanawha, Iowa and Fairview-Norway Center, S.D. area beginning March 1, 1934. They moved to Hudson in 1979 and into the Colonial Manor on April 4, 1994. He died Nov. 14, 1994. She was a 4-H leader for many years and a member of the Hudson Happy Hour Club for 35 years. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of WELCA and a charter member of the Canton, S.D. Sons of Norway.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Donald and Alice of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Eugene and Carol of Rock Valley, Iowa; two daughters, Marilyn and her husband John Trisch of LaCrosse, Wis. and Clarice Fodness and her fiance Clifford Miller of Akron, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Thelma Hanson of Redfield, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Marlo Fodness; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mabel Whitmyre; and a brother, Art.
