GRAND MEADOW, Minn. -- Elise E. Polkowske, 27, of Grand Meadow died Saturday, March 15, 2008, after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow.

Elise Erin Edwards was born on May 9, 1980, in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Rev. Robert and Kristine (Hopper) Edwards. She grew up in Sioux City until moving to Minnesota in 1996. One of the most important things in Elise's life was being a mother to her children. Elise is survived by her husband, Patrick of Grand Meadow; her children, Oliver and Myles at home; a stepdaughter, Allison Gehling of Grand Meadow; her parents, the Rev. Robert and Kristine Edwards of Dows, Iowa; a sister, Emily (Andrew) Zalasky of Ames, Iowa; a brother, Zachary Edwards of Gold Hill, Ore.; her maternal grandmother, Elaine Pash of Manchester, Iowa; and eight nieces and nephews.
