MASON CITY — Sarah May “Sally” Kreitlow, 85, of Mason City, died Friday (Dec. 19, 2003) at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City. Interment will be in the Meservey Cemetery. Sarah Christiana McGrath was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Independence, Mo., a daughter of Bert and Fern McGrath. At a young age she went to live with her grandmother. On Aug. 19, 1939, Sally was united in marriage with Melvin Carl Kreitlow. They made their home in Dows and then in Meservey. To this marriage two children were born and they adopted one son. Sally’s immediate family include her daughter: Melvene Voeltz, of Mason City; son: Mickey Kreitlow, of Meservey; daughter-in-law: Mary Kreitlow, of Ansonia, Conn.; six grandchildren: Deidra Voeltz, Stormey Kreitlow, Saramae Kreitlow, Sean Kreitlow, William Kreitlow and Tanya Kreitlow; one great-grandson: Markese Kreitlow; former husband: Melvin Kreitlow, of Meservey; one brother: Bill McGrath, of California; and a large extended family. Sally is preceded in death by her parents, son: Frankie Lee Kreitlow; and twin granddaughters. Retz-Grarup Funeral Home.
