OELWEIN, Iowa -Paul Helgevold, 53, 404 Third Ave. S.W., died Thursday morning, Aug. 11, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug; 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Alan Wolkenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Ayrshire, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 8p.m. at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and at the church Saturday for one hour before the service.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice; three daughters: Colleen Helgevold, Iowa City; Connie Helgevold, Marion; and Mary, Mrs. Scott Nading, Dunkerton; his parents, Joe and Max Helgevold, Ruthven; two brothers: Joe Helgevold, Wisconsin; and David Helgevold, Hawarden; and a sister, Janis Maquire, Wangarata, Australia. He was preceded in death by a son, David Lowell Helgevold, in 1966. Mr. Helgevold was born May 25, 1941, in Fort Dodge, the son of Joseph M. and Maxine lone Schaeffer Helgevold. He was an air controlman in the United States Navy. He and the former Eunice Frances Wacker were married March 5, 1966 at Anamosa He moved to Oelwein from Strawberry Point in 1973. He worked at Jim's Quick Shop for the past several years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post #9.
