Donna L. Carlson, 53, loved nature & adored grandchildren

Donna Lynn Carlson, the daughter of Douglas Unglesbee, Michigan, North Dakota, and Judy (Stickney) Jankord, Minneapolis, Minn., was born on March 28, 1955, in Minneapolis. She is also the step-daughter of Judy (Spragg) Unglesbee and Tony Fletch. One of seven children and two step-siblings, she was raised and educated in Minneapolis, except for a few years in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where her family lived for a few years in the 1960’s. She was united in marriage to Keith Carlson in Minneapolis at a young age, divorced and remarried to him shortly afterwards to make their life together of over 25 years. Her life was a full one as she always was a giving and caring person, always had her faith in God to guide her and comfort her right up until the end of her life’s journey. She loved butterflies, nature, cats and dogs, and adored her husband and grandchildren. To know her was to love her unconditionally as she was truly one of a kind. You could not have asked to have a better wife, daughter, sister or friend.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Brent and LeRoy, two brothers, Eddie and John, and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Keith, and his family; her parents and step-parents; one daughter, Ginny Fields of Eagle Grove, Iowa; two sisters, LaVonne Schaeffer (husband Scott), of Eagle Grove, and Laurie Lesnar (husband Dan), of South St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, Doug Unglesbee, of Maple Grove, Minn., and Ralph Unglesbee in the Minneapolis area; step-sister, Michelle Nelson, of Wisconsin, and Chad Nelson (wife Sue), Minn. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Alex, Marissa, Keith, Brandon, and Kyle; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Donna Carlson died on January 11, 2009, while at her home in Barnum, Minn., with her husband at her side. She was so dearly loved and will be missed. Funeral services will be held at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 3131 Minnehaha Ave. So., in Minneapolis, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be sent to her husband, Keith, to be used at his discretion. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Minneapolis, Minn., is in charge of arrangements.
