Sharon J. Hagie, 68, Clarion, died January 24, 2009 at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services will be held Wednesday, January 28 at 2 p.m. at the Clarion United Church of Christ Congregational with Pastor Geoffrey White officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Sharon Jean, the daughter of Clarence and Jennie (Wiemann) Steenhard, was born December 13, 1940 in Latimer. Her family lived in Latimer, Britt and Meservey. She graduated from Belmond High School. Sharon married Charles Hagie in March 1963 and the couple made their home on the family farm. She was employed at Hawk Manufacturing and later retired from Sports Graphics due to ill health. Sharon was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Clarion, and she thought of the members there as her second family. Sharon loved spending time with her family and attended many different sporting events her son Chris was involved in. She watched football and basketball games on television, and looked forward to trips with her girlfriends; they always had a great time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marilyn Kling; and three siblings at birth. Sharon is survived by sons Chris (Susie Smith and her daughter Marlee Smith) of Denver, CO and Tim (Anne) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Mollie and Christopher Stiff, Kelsey and Lyndie Fisher and Jaymie Hagie; brother-in-law Richard Kling of Belmond; nieces Susan (Richard) Whitty, Pamela Kling (Mike Rausch) and Cindy Kling; and great-nephews Justin and Nathan Whitty. The family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of Wright County or Meals on Wheels.
