Dean E. Hansch, 61, of Fort Dodge died on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel, A private family burial will follow at the Colfax Township Cemetery near Vincent, Iowa. The visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Dean was born in Fort Dodge on Sept. 22, 1947 to Edwin and Pearl (Johnson) Hansch. He grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He was a self employed carpenter and worked for Electrolux for many years and always enjoyed going bowling. Dean is survived by his father, Edwin Hansch of Fort Dodge; his sisters, Shirley Patterson of Fort Dodge and Karen (Charlie) Wright of Wingo, Ky.; nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Susan Burke. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Hansch.
