Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaBADGER - Jennifer Lynn Kloss, 37, of Badger, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 after a sudden illness at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 27, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Al Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Colfax Township Cemetery, rural Vincent. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Jennifer Widick was born October 2, 1971 to Denver and Georgia (Staples) Widick in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1990, and was very active in the DECA program earning numerous awards. Jennifer married Brett D. Kloss on November 11, 1995 at The Vincent House in Fort Dodge. For many years she worked in the retail industry, employed at Younkers and Christopher and Banks where she served as manager. Most recently she worked in the customer support services department at First Federal Savings Bank in Fort Dodge. She was a Pack 12 Cub Scout leader at St. Paul Lutheran School for 3 years, and served as scout camp director for 2 years. Jennifer was an active parent at St. Paul Lutheran School where her children attend. Crafting, floral arranging, gardening, home decorating and camping with family were a few of her favorite pastimes. She was a very talented active person who loved spending time with family and friends.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Brett, son Mitchel and daughter Jordyn of Badger; parents Denver and Georgia Widick of Badger; sister Shelley Widick of Humboldt; grandparents DeWayne and Virval Widick of Webster City; mother-in-law Janice Kloss of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law Cyndi (Dan) Poppinga; niece Danielle and nephew Drew Poppinga of Manson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents George and Virginia Staples of Jewell. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and St. Paul Lutheran Church and School families. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
