Memorial services were held at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries, for Curtis Donald "Curt" Albee, 75, St. Maries, who died February 12, 2004. He was born in Hardy, Iowa, October 9, 1928, to Kenneth and Edith Albee, and he grew up in Hermiston, Oregon. During World War II, he served with the 1st Cavalry, and following his discharge he moved to Oakesdale, where he worked on area wheat farms. In 1955, he moved to Harrison and helped build the grain elevator before going to work for Stimson Lumber. He married Helen Chamberlain in Coeur d'Alene in 1956, and they made their home in Harrison while he worked for the Department of Transportation and at a sawmill in Rose Lake. In 1964, he went to work at the Potlatch Mill in St. Maries. He and Helen were divorced in 1979,, and Curt moved to St. Maries. He enjoyed bowling, being around people at area restaurants, smoking his pipe and conversation over good coffee. He is survived by daughter Lisa Albee, Oldtown; brother Winston Albee, Orting, Washington; and sister Betty Webley, Idyllwild, California.

Memorial service for Curtis Donald Albee, 75, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries, with inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Mr. Albee, who was born in Hardy, Iowa, died Thursday. He grew up in Hermiston, Ore., and served with the Army's 1st Calvary during World War II. After his military service he moved to Oakesdale, Wash., and worked on area wheat farms. Mr. Albee moved to Harrison, Idaho, in 1955 and helped construct a grain elevator and the Springston Lumber Mill. He married Helen Chamberlain in 1956. They divorced in 1979. Mr. Albee worked for the state Highway Department and at a sawmill in Rose Lake before going to work at Potlatch Mill in St. Maries in 1964. He retired in 1991. Mr. Albee enjoyed bowling. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Albee of Oldtown, Idaho; a brother, Winston Albee of Orting, Wash.; a sister, Betty Webley of Idyllwild, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
