Death Takes Frank Bessman
Was Involved in Auto Accident on June 23

Frank Bessman of Buckeye who was hospitalized a week ago Sunday as a result of an auto accident in Alden, died Wednesday afternoon at Ellsworth Hospital. He was 67. The body was at the Scott Funeral Home at Alden but at press time Wednesday the time for the services had not been set. The accident which claimed Mr. Bessman's life occurred at the intersection of the Buckeye road and Highway 20 south of Alden on Sunday, June 23. The Bessman car was hit broadside and he suffered the most serious injuries. The other parties involved, from Ohio, were released from the hospital last week and have gone to their home.

Mr. Bessman was born on a farm near Alden on Sep. 19, 1889 and spent his entire life in the Alden-Buckeye-Popejoy community farming and doing carpenter work. He was active in the carpenter business at the time of his accident. His wife, who died in 1952, was the former Ida Runge of Buckeye. Surviving children include, Robert of Buckeye, Arthur of Waterloo, Otis of Owasa, Leonard of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Vernie Brandt of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Wesley Russell of Mason City, Mrs. George Nicholson of Alden, Mrs. Clifford Nicholson of Buckeye, Mrs. William Burke of Waterloo, Mrs. Everett Tjarks, of Alden and William of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
