Adelbert Beal, 91, of Kissimmee, Florida and formerly Eldora, Buckeye, and Alden, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2003, at the Oceola Regional Medical Center, Kissimmee, Florida. Funeral services for Adelbert Beal will be 11:00 am Friday, March 7, 2003, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Radcliffe, Iowa, with the Pastors Dana Williams and Carroll deForest officiating. Burial will be at the Alden Cemetery, Alden, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday evening at the Linn's Funeral Homes, Iowa Falls chapel, with a Masonic memorial service at 8:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice. The Linn's Funeral Homes, Iowa Falls chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Adelbert Beal was born May 8, 1911, in Blackhawk County near Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Melvin Lowell and Ethyl Grace (Skinner) Beal. He attended the LeGrand and Geneva, Iowa Community Schools. On October 18, 1936, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Dodd at the United Methodist Church, Popejoy, Iowa. To this union a daughter: Carol was born. He started his employment as a farm hand in Hardin and Wright Counties, he also farmed near Des Moines, Iowa, Alden, Iowa and finally east of Buckeye, Iowa. Dorothy passed away in 1972. He retired in 1978 from farming and moved to Eldora, Iowa where he was very active in starting Dorothy's Senior Center. He was a 3rd degree Mason and a member of Radiant Lodge # 366, Alden, Iowa, an past Iowa Masonic District Lecturer, and Iowa Masonic Grand Lodge Officer, and a member of the Eastern Star.

Adelbert is survived by his daughter: Carol Kraus and husband Steven of 2676 Orchid Lane, Kissimmee, Florida; two grandchildren: Ryan Kraus and wife Kimberly of Savanah, Georgia, Lisa Spires and husband Michael of Lakeland, Florida, one great-granddaughter: Sara Anne Spires of Lakeland; two sisters: Clarabelle Branan of Hampton, Iowa, and June Rininger and husband Eugene of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Ethyl Beal; four sisters: Floy Nelson, Laura Wood, Lois Freitag, and Nola Beal (infant); and three brothers: Lee Beal, Cyrus Beal (infant), Richard Beal (infant).
