Jayne Ann Nelson, 56, of Roland died June 23, 2006 as a result of a car accident south of Roland. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 27, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will follow in the Roland Cemetery.

Jayne was born May 29, 1950 in Fort Dodge to Melvin and Clarise (Kvale) Minikis. She married David Nelson on August 15, 1970 in Thor, IA. She worked as a secretary for the Gary Thompson Oil Company and was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church where she served as church treasurer for over 25 years. Jayne enjoyed family, her grandchildren, friends, camping, her house and landscaping.

She is survived by her husband, David of Roland; two sons, Cory (Brandi) of Ellsworth and Chris (Brenda) of Story City; a daughter, Megan (Grant) Tjernagel of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Jadyn and Kelsey; her mother and step father, Clarise and Andrew Johnson of Wells, MN.; a brother, Larry Minikis (Janis) of Thor, IA and a sister, Lisa Proehl of Minnesota Lake, MN. Jayne was preceded in death by father, Melvin Minikis; and a grandson, Carter David Nelson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Soderstrum Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
