September 19, 2002Irvin Whitecotton, a shipping clerk, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was 75. He was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Vincent, Iowa, and lived in Vancouver 57 years. Survivors include his wife, Frances, at home; three daughters, Kathleen Linden, Sharon Kosmecki and Marilyn Taylor, all of Vancouver; one son, Mick Hull of Austin, Minn.; two brothers, Charles of Long Beach, Wash., and Larry of Brush Prairie; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Whitecotton was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Republican Party. The casket will be open from noon to 8 p.m. today at Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Park Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Share House, 1115 W. 13th St., Vancouver, WA 98660; or St. Vincent De Paul, 2456 N.E. Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661.
