Arthur L. WAGNER -- Loving Husband, Father, Great and Great-Great Grandfather, Art is survived by Mildred, his loving wife of 74 years, his sons Richard (LaDon) and David (Stephanie), 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and fifth generation descendants. Art's eldest son Harold and daughter-in-law Jane preceded him in death. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Washelli at Seattle, by family friend and Pastor Pam Russell. Art was born near Vincent, Iowa to Heinrich (Henry) and Bertha Wagner. Henry emigrated from Germany in 1895 at the age of 15, later married fellow immigrant Bertha and raised seven sons and two daughters on the farm. Arthur is the last of his long-lived siblings to pass away, and he was buoyed in his final months by the love and support of his family and dedicated caregivers at Manor Care in Lynnwood and the Lodge in Kirkland, Washington. Art married Mildred Musburger in 1933 and after some years of farming and the birth of Harold and Richard, moved to California for greater opportunity. After WWII and service in the California National Guard, Art worked for Douglas Aircraft and Nash as a machinist. To better provide for his family, Art always worked second jobs in machine shops and as a security guard. Art was a simple and peaceful man, quietly content. Without the ability to read music, he could play any song he heard on the violin, the accordion or harmonica. The polka was his favorite. Art was happiest with the simple pleasures of a pipe and a baseball game. His family and friends feel blessed to have shared his joyful life of 96 years.
