Charlotte A. Schumacher, 97, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Trinity Regional Memorial Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2003, at 9:15 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Duncombe with the Rev. Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of the Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Duncombe. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Friday where there will be a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil for the deceased at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons-Robert of Ackley, Gerald of Clare, and Richard of New Virginia; daughters, Norma Doyle of Fort Dodge, Mary Sue Brighi of Greely, CO, and Sharyn Trask of Webster City; 37 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Sara Duffy McCoy, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Charlotte A. McCoy was born on June 26, 1906 in Williams, IA. She was raised and educated in Webster City. In 1929, Charlotte was united in marriage to Carlisle Schumacher at St. Thomas Church in Webster City and the couple established their home on a farm near Woolstock. In 1937, they moved to a farm near Duncombe where they farmed until retiring in 1968. Carlisle "Curly" passed away on Feb. 25, 1985. She continued to live in rural Duncombe until moving to the Marian Home in 1999. Charlotte was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Duncombe. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
