Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaKimberly Kay Thomas, 50, of Fort Dodge, died September 14, 2008, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Cremation services will take place at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home.
Kimberly is survived by her husband Andrew R. Thomas; her children, Bryce Halfpop, Des Moines; and Cole Q. Johnson, Cedar Rapids; her mother Maylene Anderson and step-father Duncan Cameron, British Columbia, Canada; her father Keith (Karen) Halfpop, Branson, MO; her siblings, Kevin Halfpop, Urbandale; Kathy Braner and Kelly Allen, both of Belmond; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons in infancy.
Kimberly Kay Halfpop, the daughter of Keith and Maylene (Anderson) Halfpop, was born March 19, 1958, in Belmond, IA. She received her education at Huntington Beach, Calif. and then graduated from Belmond High School. Kimberly was a home health care aide. She was married to Andrew 'Ricky' Thomas in 2000, in Fort Dodge. Kimberly will be remembered for having a heart larger than the entire world. She was always trying to help someone in need and especially tried to rescue as many helpless animals as she could. She loved shopping, gardening and cooking both indoors and outdoors. Kimberly attended the Adult Day Care at Friendship Haven and enjoyed spending many happy hours in the park with her dogs.
