D. J. KRIEGER, AGE 72, DIES
Funeral Services Will Be Sunday Afternoon at Blairsburg.
David J. Krieger, 72, of Blairsburg, died at the hospital this morning [February 18, 1932] at 2 o'clock. Death was caused by pneumonia and complications. Mr. Krieger underwent an emergency operation at the hospital Saturday night and had grown steadily worse until his death. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church at Blairsburg at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. R. N. Culbertson will officiate. Burial will be made in the Blairsburg cemetery. There will be a brief prayer services at 1 o'clock at the Foster funeral home here.
Mr. Krieger was born June 29, 1859 in Alsace-Lorraine, France. He came to the United States in 1886, settling first in De Kalb county, Illinois. While he lived in Illinois he married Miss Christina Waggoner. In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Krieger moved to a farm in Wall Lake township, north of Blairsburg, where he lived until eight years ago when they retired and moved to Blairsburg. Mr. Krieger was a member of the Lutheran church, and was very widely known in Hamilton county.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mrs. Christina Krieger; one sister, Mrs. Louis Mathis, of north of Blairsburg; two brothers, Andrew Krieger and Adolph Krieger, both of Webster City, two half-sisters, Mrs. Jules Hanus, of Woolstock, and Mrs. Hortense Benoit, of France; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
