Joe Hudson Died Today

Joe Hudson, 61, longtime Hamilton county resident, died at 1:30 this morning [September 7, 1960] at the Oakdale [Johnson County, Iowa] hospital where he had been a patient the past six years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home with Rev. Robert Scott officiating and with burial in Cass Center cemetery.

Joseph Homer Hudson, son of Samuel and Amanda Hudson, was born May 11, 1899, on a farm near Sedalia, Mo. He was reared and educated there, later moving to Webster City. He was united in marriage Oct. 19, 1921, to Ethel Kepler, and Mr. and Mrs. Hudson farmed near Webster City for a number of years. Since 1941, they had made their home one mile north of Webster City.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, and two sons, Mrs. Howard (Marcelyn) Lake, Mrs. Claude (Etheldra) Willson and Howard Hudson, all of Webster City, and Joseph Hudson of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, Elick Hudson, Webster City, William Hudson, Mrs. Emma Bagerly, Mrs. Velva Christenson, and Mrs. Anna Harper, all of Clinton, and Mrs. Lula Elliot of Baton Rouge, La. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, by his parents, one brother and one sister.
