THE DEATH OF MRS. HANNAH COURTER

Died at Her Home North of This City--Was 68 Years of Age.

Mrs. Hannah A. Courter died Saturday morning [February 15, 1913] at her home just north of this city [Webster City, Iowa], the cause of her death being a severe case of grippe and bronchitis from which she had been suffering for the past couple of weeks. The deceased was 68 years of age at the time of her death and leaves one adopted daughter, Mrs. James Kepler, who with her family resided with Mrs. Courter, and one brother, James Thompson, who lives eight miles northeast of town. Many nieces and nephews in this city are left to mourn the death of this good woman --Mrs. C. D. Doolittle, Mrs. Mary Denton, Mrs. S. J. Barber, Mrs. Bernice Knoll, Miss Mrytle Thompson, Messrs. G. D. Thompson, James Kepler, Oscar Kepler, W. B. Thompson, David Thompson, Sam Thompson, and George Thompson, all being relatives.

Mrs. Courter came to Webster City, some 40 years ago with her husband, David Courter, who passed to the great beyond about sixteen years ago. She has resided in and near this city ever since. She was a good woman and faithful member of the Christian church and has many friends who will mourn her sad taking away. The funeral as held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, conducted by Rev. A. I. Martin of the Christian church, with interment in the Cass Center Cemetery.
