24 December 1962H. R. Kepler Dies at 57
Harold R. Kepler, 57, lifelong resident of Webster City, died suddenly Saturday evening [December 22, 1962] at his home, 520 Willow St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. H.C. Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Center cemetery.
Harold Raymond Kepler, son of James and Myrtle Kepler, was born Sept. 17, 1905, on a farm north of Webster City and was reared and educated in the Webster City community. He was united in marriage Jan 20, 1925, to Vera Davenport, and the couple had always since resided in Webster City. Mr. Kepler engaged in farm work, and for the past several years had been employed on the Annetta Woods farm.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters and one son, Mrs. Weldon (Phyllis) Krieger, Mrs. Don (Marie) Hanus, Mrs. Gerald (Charlotte) Frye and Roger Kepler, all of Webster City, and Mrs. Emil (Lorraine) Hanus of Eagle Grove; 17 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Kepler, Webster City; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ethel Hudson, Webster City, Mrs. Charles Riley, Des Moines, and Mrs. Elva Underwood, Hawthorn, Calif., and James W. Kepler of Woolstock, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Kepler was preceded in death by one son, Harold, in 1953; by his father and one brother Melvin.
Mr. Kepler was a former member of the Iowa National Guard.
