Mrs. Rothrock Died Friday

Mrs. Jane Rothrock, 82, longtime resident of Webster City, died at 6 p.m. Friday at the Hamilton county hospital where she had been a patient since Sept. 3. She had been in failing health the past five years. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. J. J. Share officiating. Burial will be in the Blairsburg cemetery.

Jane Hamilton, daughter of James and Agnes Hamilton, was born Dec. 29, 1875, on a farm near Lehigh. She was reared and educated in the Lehigh community. She was united in marriage March 21, 1898, to Hiel Henry Davenport, and to this union two children were born--Harold, who died at the age of 21, and Mrs. Harold (Vera) Kepler of Webster City. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport farmed south of Blairsburg where her husband preceded her in death in 1902. She was united in marriage July 11, 1906, to Willis Rothrock of Blairsburg, and to this union four children were born: Leona, who died at the age of 2 1/2, Mrs. Willard (Elva) Day, Clifford Rothrock, and Mrs. Lon (Ethel) Fisher, all of Webster City. Mr. and Mrs. Rothrock and family moved to Minnesota in 1911 and resided there until 1923, when they returned to Webster City, their home since. Her husband preceded her in death in 1927. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister. Besides the three daughters and one son, she is survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Grace Casey, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Elizabeth Tierney, Cloquet, Minn., John Hamilton, Fort Dodge, and Will Hamilton of Florida. Mrs. Rothrock was a member of the Webster City Methodist church.
