Funeral services for Weldon C. Krieger, 49, of the Woolstock-Webster City area, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Edward Masters officiating and with burial at the French cemetery at Woolstock. Flagfolding services will be held at graveside by the American Legion post 191. Mr. Krieger died early Thursday morning at Mercy hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Weldon Cedric Krieger, son of Harry Fred and Nellie Mae Mourlam Krieger, was born May 2, 1928 at Woolstock where he was reared and educated. He entered service in 1946, serving in Germany until 1948 before returing to Webster City where he was employed by Peoples Natural Gas Co., Morton's and Beam Mfg. Co., then engaged in the taxi business for awhile. On July 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Kepler. He is survived by one son and two daughter, Monte Krieger of Kamrar; Mrs. Howard (Marcia) Moon of Clarion and Mrs. Mike (Marla) Griffin of Webster City and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Thompson of Clarion, and one brother, Loren Krieger of Woolstock, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. Mr. Krieger was baptized at the French Lutheran Church in Woolstock.
