DEATH TAKES A. KRIEGER, 78

Funeral Services for Local Man to Be Thursday at Foster's.

Andrew Krieger, 78, died at his home at 7:40 p.m. yesterday after a lingering illness. He had been ill several months. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home, with the Rev. E. A. Piper, of Fairfield, formerly of this city, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery,

Mr. Krieger was born April 29, 1861, in Alsace Lorraine, France. He was educated in the schools of that country, after which he became a farmer, working generally on the farms of his community until 1881 when, being 20 years of age, he served in the army for three years. Following his discharge he came to America with his brother, David, in 1886, locating in Pontiac, Ill. He later moved to Hinckley, Ill. where he was united in marriage to Miss Justine Krieger March 18, 1895. Two children were born to that union, Harry, of near Woolstock, and Ida, at home. He is survived by his wife and two children, two grandchildren, Lorren and Weldon, sons of Harry Krieger, a brother, Adolph Krieger, of Webster City, and one sister, Mrs. Louise Mathis of Blairsburg. There are two half-sisters, Mrs. Olive Hanus, of Woolstock, and Mrs. Hortense Snorent of Saulsures, France. After their marriage they resided in Hinckley, Ill., for years, and then moved to Serena, Ill., where they resided for three years, before coming to Iowa. In 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Krieger moved to their farm northeast of Woolstock where they lived until Apr. 1926, when they moved to their present home in Webster City. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended the French church, near Woolstock, and also the English Lutheran church
