Mrs. Krieger Dies at 88

Mrs. Justine Krieger, 88, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 319 Elm street. She had been in failing health the past three and one-half months. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Paul Clement officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Justine Krieguer, daughter of Fredrick and Concord Krieguer, was born June 4, 1868, in Bellefosse, Alsace-Lorraine, France. She was reared and educated in France, coming to America with a sister, the late Mrs. Louie Bernard, when she was a young woman. They located at Serena, Ill. She was united in marriage March 18, 1895 to Andrew Krieger. The couple farmed for three years near Hinkley, Ill., then moved to a farm near Serena. In 1904 they moved to Iowa, locating on a farm near Woolstock where they resided until 1926 when they purchased their home at 819 Elm street, the family home since.

Mrs. Krieger was preceded in death by her husband in 1939; by one son, Harry, who died Jan. 1, 1957; by her parents; one brother and two sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James (Ida) Walsh of Webster City: and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harry Krieger of Webster City; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

The family has requested that friends so desiring may make memorial gifts to the building fund of the Trinity Lutheran church.
