Wm. E. Cline Dies Suddenly

Relatives and friends of William E. Cline of Ann Lake community were shocked by his sudden death at 1:50 o'clock last Sunday morning, April 24 [1949] at the hospital in Mora [Minnesota]. His death was caused by a blood clot of the heart. He was taken to the hospital at noon on the previous Wednesday and appeared to be improving when visited by members of his family Saturday evening. Although he had suffered a siege of pneumonia last winter, he had recovered and was doing his regular work about the farm until being taken to the hospital. The fatal blood clot was a recurrence of a similar ailment with which he was stricken about twelve years ago.

William Earl Cline was born at Goodell, Iowa, February 21, 1898. He spent his younger days and attended school there and made his home with his parents on the home place until August 2, 1921, when he was united in marriage to Minnie Katherine Maikle, In 1932 they moved to Ann Lake township, northwest of Ogilvie, and have since resided there. To this union two children were born.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Minnie; one daughter, Evelyn and one son Gerald; his mother Mrs. Minna Cline of Forest City, Iowa, and two brothers, Roy Cline of Forest City, Iowa, and Lloyd Cline of Kanawha, Iowa. His father preceded him in death. Mr. Cline will be missed by many friends and neighbors in addition to the relatives. The Sentinel extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held at the Dresser Chapel in Mora Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clayton A. Oberg of the local Methodist church officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery at Mora. Pallbearers were Guy Barner, Roy Odell, Howard Conger, Ervin Klentop, John DeJong, and Otto Holmstrom.
