Minton Cline Rites Held Sept. 15th at Belmond Mortuary

Long-time resident of Goodell, succumbed at Hospital in Belmond Friday

Goodell, IA --Minton Cline, son and of John and Amelia (Moon) Cline was born in Cedar Rapids Sept. 8, 1861, and after a long illness passed away at the Belmond Hospital Friday morning, Sept. 13, 1940 at 3:10. In childhood he moved with his parents to Hardin County, and there he grew to manhood in the vicinity of Alden. On March 20, 1880, he was married to Minnie Pabbeldt and to this union were born three sons, also one daughter who passed away in infancy. He farmed near Alden for two years and then in 1892 with his family moved to the farm near Goodell. Here he lived until he and his wife retired from the farm and purchased the home in Goodell where he lived until his death.

Mr. Cline leaves to mourn his passing his wife; three sons, Lloyd and Roy of Goodell, and William of Ogilivia, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends made thruout his many years as a resident in this community.

Funeral services were held from a funeral home at Belmond at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Lloyd Patton of the U. B. Church at Goodell officiating.

Pallbearers were Chas. Peterson, Pete Peterson, Chas. Conklin, Nels Chelsvig, Chris Dieger, and Henry Christenson. Burial was made in the family lot at Alden. Other relatives left to mourn include sister, Mrs. Effie Draper of Webster City, Mrs. Vivian Hawthone, St. Paul, Minn., both unable to attend owing to illness, and Mrs. Joe Hackle, Wynot, Neb. Three brothers preceded him in death. Out of town relatives and friends were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hackle and daughter, Edith, of Wynot; Mr. and Mrs. Holland, Forest City; Joe Cline, Buffalo Center; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cline, Eagle Grove; Clarence Cline, Garner; Harry Cline, Mason City; Mrs. Mary Haupt and Mr. and Mrs. Irving Haupt, Kanawha; Mr. and Mrs. Loth, Belmond; Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder and daughter, Dorothy, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schroeder and family, Blairsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Schroeder and family, Williams; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Clark and family, Galt; Charles Gayer, William Gayer, and Walter Moore, all of Rock Valley; Mrs. Arthur Gayer, Inwood; Mrs. Bertha Winerfet, Garriston, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Oren Bamford and Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Eliason, all of Kanawha; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Graffunder and Mrs. Fisher, Williams; Mr. and Mrs. John Unkun, Buffalo Center; and Bert Weatherly, Grundy Center.
