Mrs. Henrietta Wasem, 96, of 1445 E. Broadway, died May 27 at her home. She was born in Posen, West Poland, Germany, and came to the United States in 1854, settling in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and came to Long Beach in 1907. She was the widow of Adam Wasem, a developer of the Belmont Heights District, and well known G. A. R. veteran, who died in 1922. Surviving are six sons, William A. Wasem, Charles A., Otto E., Henry M., and Walter Wasem, all of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Adam F. Wasem, Long Beach; five daughters, Miss Ella E. Wasem, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. Raye E. Scheerer, Puente; Mrs. Benjamin L. Meigs and the Misses Carrie E. and Lean E. Wasem of Long Beach; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Private services will be held this afternoon at 6 o'clock in chapel of Mottell's Mortuary. Rev. F. Augustus Martyr of All Saints Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Dodge, Iowa. Friends are kindly asked to omit flowers.
