Donna Jean Robbins, 63, of Kensett, Iowa died on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, with Reverend Tom Martin officiating. Burial was in the Kensett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the church. The Conner Colonial Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna Jean Robbins was born on August 17, 1942, in Renwick, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Voss) Helmich. Donna was baptized in the Lutheran faith and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett. She attended and received her education in the Northwood-Kensett community schools, graduating from the Northwood Kensett High School in 1961. Donna also graduated with a degree in accounting from the Hamilton Business College in Mason City in 1962. She was united in marriage to Kester Robbins Sr. in 1963. Donna worked as a clerical typist for Farm Service Company in Kensett and also worked along side her husband, Kester Robbins, Sr. at the Sheraton Hotel in Mason City. She enjoyed latch hooking, doing stain glass sun catchers, ceramics, country music, and gardening. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett and the prayer circle at the church.

Survivors include three sons, Mark, Mike and Donnie; one daughter, Kimberly; two step-children, Kester Robbins, Jr. of Mason City and Mary Ann Kitner of Mason City; a grandson, Daniel Palmer; special friend, Kester Robbins, Sr. of Northwood; a sister, Shirley Carroll of Mason City; a niece, Susan Carroll of Mason City; and a nephew, Rodney Anderson of Mason City; as well as other relatives and friends. Her parents preceded her in death.
