Greeley, CO-- Beverly J. "Bev" Cumley was born in Meservey, Iowa, to Robert F. and Nellie Irene (Cramer) Gobeli. On Aug. 13, 1955, she married William Doyle "Red" Norris in Raton, N.M. He died June 17, 1972. On Aug. 6, 1977, she married Melvin Lee Cumley in Greeley. He died Dec. 11, 2003. Mrs. Cumley grew up in Iowa and moved to Colorado in 1949. She was a longtime member of Sunny View Church of the Nazarene. She and her husband Red Norris traveled with Wright's Carnival from 1955-1970. She had many memorable stories about the carnival life. From Dec. 2, 1991 to Aug. 22, 2000, Mrs. Cumley was a bus driver for Weld County. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. She loved friends and always said, "The more the merrier." Above all was her love for her daughters and granddaughters and time spent with them. Mrs. Cumley died Monday at Life Care Center of Greeley.
Survivors: Two daughters, Ruth Sutliff and Rita Medrano and husband Armando, a sister, Betty Zavala, and a brother, Roger Gobeli, all of Greeley; and three granddaughters, Erica Rivera of Longmont and Yvette Medrano and Carly Sutliff, both of Greeley. Preceded in death by: A brother Fritz Gobeli and a granddaughter Veronica Medrano.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m., Tuesday at Sunny View Church of the Nazarene, 4100 W. 20th St., Greeley. Inurnment: Private family inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley. Stoddard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
