CANOGA PARK, Calif. - Harlan Duane Gobeli passed away Wednesday (April 3, 2002) at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Calif. His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Crawford Mortuary at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, Calif. Harlan Gobeli was born June 30, 1927, at home, son of Forrest and Eva (West) Gobeli. He grew up in the Meservey area where he graduated from Meservey high school in 1944. Following high school, Harlan enlisted in the service, which began his military career serving in the Navy, Air Force and rounding out his career in the Marine Corps. After retiring from the military, Harlan drove truck cross country finishing his career with Tyson Foods, leaving Tyson Foods due to health problems and settling in Canoga Park, Calif.

Survivors include his son, Brian, and his wife, Sharon; three grandchildren, Nick, Cheyenne, and Brian Jr.; a brother, Vern Gobeli and wife, Jan, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and sister-in-law, Wilma Gobeli, of Meservey. Harlan was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dale and Dean.
