4 December 1865 --- 19 May 1940

Charles Severin Jetmund was born in the city of Bergen, Norway, Dec 4, 1865. He came to America in 1885, coming first to Dows where he lived a short time, then went to Minneapolis for two years. In 1887 he returned to Dows where he has lived ever since. Jan. 31, 1900, he was united in marriage to Annie Oler. She passed away Jan 29, 1901. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Craigmile, of Belmond. March 24, 1906, he married Anne Sevick, who with two sons and two daughters survive him. They are Mabel, John, Myrtle and Clarence of Dows. There are three grandsons, James, Charles and John Craigmile of Belmond. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jennie Hanson of Bergen, Norway, and Mrs. Ole T. Oleson and Ross Jetmund of Dows.....In his boyhood he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

Dows - The funeral of Charles S. Jetmund, 74, will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Jetmund was born December 4, 1865 in Norway and died at his home in Dows Sunday. He came to this country when a young man and had followed his trade as painter and paperhanger for more than 50 years.

He was married in 1900 to Miss Annie Oler, who died one year later. In 1906 he was married to Miss Anna Sevick, who survives.

He also leaves three daughters: Mrs. Gladys Craigmile of Belmond; Miss Myrtle Jetmund of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mable at home and two sons, John and Clarence at home.

Dows - Neighbors were shocked to hear of the death of Charles Jetmund Sunday afternoon at his home. He had been in poor health for about a year and had taken treatments at Rochester. He was able to be about the house most of the time. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. R.A. Brough with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.
