Mrs. James McHale

Last Wednesday morning at her home in Wall Lake township occurred the death of Mrs. James McHale after an illness of several weeks with a complication of ailments incident to one of her age. Bridget McGinn was born in Canada October 27, 1850, and died September 26, 1915, aged 64 years, 11 months, and 2 days. Her girlhood days were spent in New York state where her parents first located on coming to America. January 29, 1874, deceased was united in marriage to James McHale, at Port Henry, N.Y., who preceded the wife to the better end eighteen years ago. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are living, five sons and a daughter. They are Thomas, Patrick, William, James, John, and Loretta, all of whom are home except Patrick. Deceased is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. M.C. Cull of Chicago, Mrs. John O'Neill of Clarion, and Hugh McGinn of Leadville, Colorado.

The McHale family came to Wright County about thirty-five years ago and located on the present farm home in Wall Lake township, being among the pioneer settlers of that locality. Mrs. McHale was a devoted wife and mother and it was in her home that she found her greatest joy in administrating to the wants of her loved ones. She was a kind and loving neighbor and a consistent friend. She always had a kind word and helping hand for everyone.

Funeral services were held in St. John's church Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock in charge of Father Murphy, assisted by Father Eardly of Belmond and Father Nolan of Eagle Grove, internment in the Catholic cemetery.

Relatives in attendance at the funeral from far away were Mrs. M. T. Cull, Owen and Miss Marie of Chicago, Pat McHale of Belmond, Miss Kathryn McGinn of Waverly, John Torpe and wife of Waterloo, and Henry Hocraffer and wife of Mason City.
