Wright County Monitor
February 7, 1923

Anna Mary Greiner was born in Germany May 22, 1833, and died January 29, 1923, at the age of eighty-nine years, eight months, and seven days. Her last illness, paralysis, was of short duration lasting only a period of seven weeks. While a young girl, she emigrated with her parents to America. On November 1, 1857, she was united in marriage with George Hahn, who preceded here in death by fifty years. She resided near Sigourney, Iowa, until 1889 when with her family she moved to Wright County and located on a farm south of Clarion where she lived at the time of her death.

Mrs. Hahn was the mother of nine children, two of whom died in infancy and a daughter Mrs. Mets Deimerly passed away in 1920. Those surviving are Fredrick of Sigourney, Frank of Rosberg, Ore., Sebastian, Henry, Lewis, and Mrs. Tillie Russell, all of Clarion. There are fourteen grandchildren, one of whom, Bertha, has been the mainstay and helper in the last days of her grandmother's infirmity. She also had fifteen great grandchildren. She was one of a family of six, only one sister, Mrs. Kate Keifer of Tallyrand surviving.

She was a devout Catholic and was faithful to her convictions. Hers was a quiet modest life devoted to her home and family. She was ever ready to do a kind deed and counted her friends by the score. Funeral services were held in the St. John's Church Wednesday morning. Internment was made in the Catholic cemetery.
