Simon Dykhuis, 80, Hallock, North Dakota died Monday Nov. 19, 1990, in Kittson Memorial Nursing Home, Hallock, where he had lived since 1986. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hallock Mission Covenant Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayer service today in Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, and one hour before services in the church.

Simon Dykhuis was born Feb. 7, 1905, in Champin, Iowa, [also Alexander, Iowa] the son of Hinderk and Grace Dykhuis. He moved to Hill Township, Kittson (Minn.) County. On June 12, 1935, he married Muriel Easter, in Humbolt, Minn. They farmed in Hill Township until they retired in 1970 and moved to Hallock. Muriel died April 28, 1990. Survivors are sons, William, Hallock, and Richard, Appleton, Wis., 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Henry of Hallock; and sister, Tillie Bernath, Pembina, N.D. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly; and brother, Ben.
