TAMPICO, IL -- Carol F. "Mac" McVey, 57, of rural Tampico died Thursday morning, June 4, 1992, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. He was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Belmond, Iowa, to James L. and Mary A. Fulton McVey. Surviving are one son, Michael of Dixon; one brother, James L. of Alexander, Iowa; two sisters, Jean A. Thompson of New Bedford and Patricia Bowersock of Hedrick, Iowa; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He had been working at the Richard Peterson farm near New Bedford for the past 17 years. A Korean War Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of Walnut American Legion Post 179 and the Manlius Sportsmen's Club. Cremation has been accorded, and graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at Greenville-Fairfield Cemetery near New Bedford. Howard Johnson Funeral Home in Manlius is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 179.
