KANAWHA - Jeanette Mildred Olson, 95, of Kanawha, passed away Thursday (Aug. 30, 2001) at the Kanawha Community Home. Funeral services for Jeanette Olson will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the First Lutheran Church in Kanawha with the Rev. Dr. William H. Breen, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Norway Township Cemetery near Kanawha. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Ewing Dugger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanette, the daughter of Severt and Ragnhild Nerheim Jacobson, was born April 21, 1906, at Story City. In 1914, she moved with her parents to a farm near Kanawha, where she received her education. Jeanette was confirmed at the Kanawha Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church until it closed in 1993 and she transferred to Kanawha Lutheran. She was an active member of St. John's ELCW. Jeanette was united in marriage with Joe Olson on Dec. 29, 1926, at the Lutheran parsonage in Kanawha. She and Joe moved to Kanawha in 1968. Joe passed away March 9, 1970. Jeanette enjoyed flowers, gardening and crocheting. She entered the Kanawha Community Home on Feb. 18, 1998.

She is survived by three sisters, Almina Jacobson, of Mason City, Selma Braun, of Mankato, Minn., and Lillian Naussner, of Clear Lake; one niece, Noreen Roberts; two nephews, Ronald Dempsey and Steve Braun; three great-nieces and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
