MESERVEY - Victor Henry Nordman, 87, of Meservey, died Saturday (Nov. 6, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Meservey, with the Rev. Jim Gochenouer and the Rev. Rodney Meester as officiants. Burial will be in LynWood Cemetery, Clarksville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Victor Nordman memorial fund.

Victor Henry Nordman, the son of Fred and Anna (Buchholz) Nordman, was born Jan. 18, 1912, at Clarksville. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and the Telegraphic School in Valparaiso, Ind. He worked for the railroad for more than 37 years, 33 of which he served as the depot agent in Meservey. In 1937, he married Dorothy Harris. She preceded him in death in 1971. On Dec. 24, 1972, he was united in marriage to Anna Hopkey. He made Meservey his home since 1938. He served as the Meservey city clerk and secretary of the Meservey School Board for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meservey. Through the years, Vic and Anna spent 21 winters in Texas, where they enjoyed fishing and many friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Anna; two daughters, Joyce Dirks and her husband, Donald, Boulder, Colo., and JoAnn Schmohe and her husband, Kenneth, Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Richard Nordman and his wife, Patti, Arlington Heights, Ill., and Robert Nordman and his wife, Polly, St. Charles, Ill.; one step-son, Michael Hopkey and his wife, Barb, Thornton; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Tenold Funeral Home.
